Ok Pat, I wanted to think you were pacifying me with the "Spring is coming" biz...now I know you have been out right lying to me...6 more inches of snow coming in here Sunday.  I don't care if your buds and blossoms froze last year....I WANT SOME WARM WEATHER.....got it?  LOL!

Oh, my Lord.  I am SO, SO, SO sorry.  I tried.  I really did.  BUt I have only so much power.  And that "so much" power seems to be pretty scant.  If not existant at all.

LOLOLOL.

But I can promise you that within 30 days Spring will appear and you will get to go golfing once again.  Honestly, for sure this time, I promise.

LOL

Hope...

You dingy blond...trucks handle just fine in snow...if ya have the right truck. Rams are great, drive one myself, but ya gotta have a 4x4 to handle real winter weather. That, and a good load of firewood in the bed.

Right now I have 6-8 foot piles of snow all around my barnyard from the storm that moved out Monday evening. Got about 18 inches out of that one, on top of the 8-10 from the storm a week before. Couldn't get ploughed out again until Tuesday morning, but at least this time L**** put the tracks back on his Bobcat so it didn't just sit there and spin.

You have 50 degrees and you're not in a bathing suit and out getting a suntan? Good grief, woman. It's up to 7 degrees today and I'm running around the house in a T-shirt. Okay, so I bundle up to go out...the wind is still whipping around and the windchill was nasty earlier, but by evening it was laying down and starting to warm up. We need to thicken your blood up, girl. Otherwise you'll be stuck in the south for the rest of your life and never know the joys of living where there are actually 4 seasons...each more spectacular that the last.

Does this mean you won't be joining us next winter for the Polar Bear Plunge? Almost every town around here has one. All ya have to do is jump in the lake after they saw a hole in the ice. Bwhahahahaha.....

Pat...

Should I apologize for sending you some of this beautiful white stuff? I have so much, I didn't want to seem greedy and keep it all. (Evil grin)

4-wheel drive doesn't mean diddly-squat on ice if you're on rubber and go into a slide, no matter what you're driving. Most tires are designed for snow and mud. Nothing tames ice, you either melt it or drive slowly...and don't expect traction on a hill. Been there, done that, and thanked the neighbor who brought his tractor and pulled me out of the ditch. Not overly fond of ditches, so since that first time I've tried to stay out of 'em. Last time I went into a slide I was only doing 15 miles an hour and ended totaling the best truck I ever had. Had half a ton of weight in the back but it doesn't do much good when you start to slide. Oh! The joys of winter...grin!

Around here, they close the roads if they're icy. Too many idiots think they can drive 50 or 60 mph. Taint the driving that gets 'em...it's the swerving to miss something or trying to stop. The police get tired of cleaning up the mess. Just easier to close the roads. Those are the same people who will take off in a whiteout and expect to make it to their destination.

Britt...

If golf is all that makes you hate winter, you should come to our Saint Urho celebration. They clear the snow off Spirit Lake and have a golf tournament on the ice. Or you could enter the bar stool races, also on the ice.

Just kidding. I'm ready for Spring, too. March has been more like January here...weather-wise...but you know the old saying. "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb!" Just hope it holds true this year.

Dakota...

You just go on and smile. When it's a sweltering 110 degrees in the shade this summer, think about the lovely 70-80 degree weather I'll be having, complete with light breezes that feel like soft velvet against bare skin.

Pat...can't we make him suffer just a little bit? Or maybe ask Mother Nature to take him a storm or two just for sh**s and giggles?

Ah, yes, but at least you will be warm, Sarah.  And I'm very sure you will be able to cope with it just fine.  I'd even welcome temps in the 90F [32.22C, I do believe].  At least then I'd be warm enough, even if I were too warm.  Heck, I could always take a cold shower.  LOLOL.

Beautiful sunny, summer like day here in Bama. (t-shirt and shorts) Had 30 min of high strait-line winds yesterday.  But finally the weather is getting better...we've had way to much rain.

Oh, my dear girl.  I'm trying.  I'm really trying.  Even though I have no interest in golfing--unless I can do it at night when the sun isn't shining--I know how much you need to be golfing, and so I've called on all the forest gods I can think of to make Spring rear its beautiful head sooner rather than later.

Clearly, the gods are laughing at me as we had 4 ot 5 inches of heavy wet snow today, mixed with sleet and freezing rain.  Then, late in the afternoon the sun came out and it started to melt.  Now that the sun has gone done, it's turned cold again and all that slush is going to become ice overnight.

But I'm still trying.  Honest, I am.  And I won't give up until I succeed.

ROFLMAO

HOPE:  Sounds like quite a trip.  Glad you made it.  I have 300 pounds of sand in the back of my Jeep Cherokee for winter.  I never would have thought a Jeep would need that to keep the rear fro fish-tailing on snow and ice, but it does.  Then again, I don't have studded snow tired on.  I'm sure if I had them, I might not need the sand.

Oh well.  It will all be over with soon.  Spring is coming.  Honestly, it is.  It just might be a little late this year.

PAT--- Some may fail to understand... But SOUTH CAROLINA "IS" very NORTH to me...

I'm cold, there is no snow and temp is in the 50's...

And I think the rain followed me from Florida!!

But hey, this beats the freezing Chicago weather I endured the winter of 93/94!!!

When I left Chicago after an extended visit mid January last year heading back to Hotlanta, the first snow fell!!

I was trying to beat the weather, but got caught in Indy with Black Beauty fish-tailing all over the road!! Turns out trucks don't do real well in snow.. I thought I was going to wreck as I could not drive over 50 and could not change lanes or move the steering wheel at all. I have travelled as far as central Florida to south Texas and never stopped. However, I stopped just hours after leaving Highland Park in some place called Columbus, Indiana,, FREAKING OUT due to my truck not handling the weather well. I was almost in tears, as I could not for the life of me understand what happened! Made some calls to learn, TRUCKS HAVE NO WEIGHT IN BACK.. I was like a cardboard box in the wind and snow! Made sense then.. 800 lbs of dirt was weighted in the back for the trip south!!

A FLORIDA GIRL BUYING SAND!!! WHODA THUNK!!! LOLOL...

Stay warm!! And Thanks for foolin me with the title! Heehee~~

Yeah this winter seems to be lasting a very long time. We had a brief week of spring then it reverted back to winter again. I trudged my way through the snow to the train station this morning, almost about to board the train when I received a text to say the school was closed. I'm not really surprised as the weather was really bad.

It's going to be a climate shock when I head out to Egypt in a couple of weeks. From freezeation to melting hot. lol

Sarah :-)
