How unique of an experience is it to be able to hit it off simply splendidly with someone on the phone, spend hours talking with each other for weeks, then finally meet and realize that not only is there no chemistry, but there is simply nothing to even remotely resemble any kind of connection???

Thank you all for your comments. I really do appreciate everyone's time. I feel much better now knowing I'm not the only this keeps happening to. I was beginning to think it was me. :-)

I've had it happen more than once. . . you cant deny this thing called physical chemistry. When you are standing in front of them looking at them sometimes that connection just isnt there.

Not very unique at all, I'm afraid. I've had this happen to me several times- twice on another dating site and once with a gentleman I worked with over the phone quite frequently. In both cases, I was VERY disappointed- all of the excitement and anticipation and then... nothing. Chemistry is very elusive and mysterious, that's why you have to keep trying!

Happened a few too many times for me. It is hard to sustain the momentum and interest in this form of dating. I will have one conversation on the phone. I can usually get a sense from that, then meet them in person. I rarely will travel to meet someone. There are enough problems with LD relationships and a little too difficult to start out with one. I mention this because meeting someone online that lives far away means a number of phone conversations... excitement and then the letdown at the first meeting -- which happens at least half the time -- if not more. Did this post make sense?
