okay- a light and silly blog.. I have had many pets throughout my life from horses, cows, dogs to guinea pigs and birds. ( i was going to be a vet)..smile I am not sure if there is any longer a delination between pet and or baby names. In light of the recent Hollywood crop of babies we have: 'apple, moses, homer, shiloh, india, asia, ireland, brooklyn, madison, phinneas, coco, d'artagnan, Kal-el, Tallulah, scout, mercedes, you get the idea..I can't see my ever naming my cow India- although in retrospect that might be funny, but I did name her Coco..not after Chanel but Cocoa puffs, I had a guinea pig named Shiloh, so i guess what I want to know is what did you name your dog? Mine is Roxy and Samson.. sounds like a stripper and a guy with long hair.. lol..CF

Frankie, you are too funny. India for a cow, how ironic! But you forgot to mention Moxie Crimefighter! (I swear, this is a real name!) As with a lot of women, I have a few names that I am partial to when it comes time to name my own children. None of them can be found in a comic book, in an orchard, or refer to a country. I have a cat that I named Roxie, but that's as far as I'll go. You know what though? Uzbekistan kinda has a nice ring to it...

ohhhh.. Pet's names... I've had too many over the years. First cat was named Ketchup (she was a tabby who's fur reminded me of maccaroni and cheese with ketchup smeared through it.. hey i was 4 at that time it FIT perfectly) My first pony was Prince. And he was truly a Prince with the ladies (mares). Also first horse was Te Quirro and her offspring Ti Amo. But my favorite still to this day are Jellybean (Basset and named due to her love of jellybeans) Lucy (my nursemate and lifesaver many a time a Short-haired St. Bernard I'd had since I was a toddler who lived to an incredible age of 13)and Bandit (my 16th birthday present and named for his stealing a roasted chicken from the middle of the kitchen table without messing up the rest of the food) My children named their kitten in a way.. we ended up with Kica which actually was my oldest's way of saying kitty cat. Cute thing is that Kisa is a russian pet name meaning Kitty. It amazes me some of the names people come up with for a baby. A name can, and will, effect that person for life. There are some rather unique names out there now. Great blog CF.. made me smile as I rememembered. Leigh

I had a beautiful red Irish setter, he was a babe, so I named him Redford, after the actor of course. What cracks me up in laughter is my sisters Macaw parrot, named Sweet pea. I just get a kick out of listening to grown adults calling her Sweet pea..Her 2 young toddlers say it with a lisp, so it's even funnier to hear them. Kids are so cute with words.
