Now that I'm actively seeking to meet someone special, I'm always trying to come up with great first date ideas. I haven't dated in a while so I'm a bit rusty on what's truly enjoyed these days. Mind you, I live in the city (Los Angeles) so temperments can tend to be quite different here than in the country . . . I suppose. Anyway, what's your idea?

I would say going to a nice bar where u can chill out on the comfy sofa, have a chat and cuddle. You can't go wrong with that.

Forgot to add my first date ideas. Try being imaginative. Weather permiting it might be really enjoyable to grab take out and sit in a park and simply talk. I find that quieter restaurants are more appealing for first dates over the loud crowded ones. And many of the quieter restaurants aren't as busy so sitting for an hour or two while talking over coffee/drinks after dinner is very workable if the chemistry is there. You want to be able to discover each other and talk freely, so think of ways that will allow you to do this. I've had a couple of first dates where they've actually been close to my cottage and we've spent time just sitting on the dock in the evening talking over drinks. Before meeting sometimes it's always helpful to find out a bit about the person, likes and dislikes. From there you'll know what to do. Dating hasn't changed that much in the past while so I'm finding out once again. Good luck. And just have fun. Leigh

My best first date.. hmm... how about the most imaginative and memorable first date. I was 19 and had met this really incredible guy on a company cruise one evening. He was piloting the boat the company had rented. He called me for a good week at work before I caved in and accepted him (hey sometimes playing a bit hard to get pays off you know *LOL*) He worked evenings mostly and I worked days so we agreed to meet up for a lunch. He warned me ahead of time to prepare for going out on the Lake so I made sure I'd worn appropriate clothing to work figuring we would be going out on his parents sail boat for a picnic lunch. I arrived at only to find that no we weren't going out on the sailboat but a Gondola. I'm always up for an adventure and it looked like great fun. His friend was piloting it and we sat back to talk and enjoy our lunch, peanut butter and jam sandwiches(he admitted that he wasn't that great at cooking yet) and red wine. Then his friend and him started the sarinading. Alright Row Row Row your boat isn't exactly romantic and my date wasn't that great of a singer but I've never laughed so hard in my life and had so much fun on a first date. We dated for close to a good year on and off too. Laughs and great friendship were always part of the dates.

That's a great one, MsKim2u. Sadly, I'm missing the date part AND I'm in Los Angeles, not many fairs =( Disneyland and Magic Mountain are a bit pricey for the first date, I'd think . . . maybe not. I'm so lousy at this! Hehe

doesn't matter where you are from. a first date should be an information session. sort of a feel them out session. before your date, find out some of what they may like and try to find common interests. start with something you both like to do. dinner and a movie are sort of cliched. try a daytime date instead of night. do something fun and interesting.

I think a great first date would be a classy jazz bar or gallery/museum. If you're more adventurous, a picnic in the park or dancing. I always give my date a small gift. Whether it be flowers, a movie he mentioned, or a book he once loved as a kid. Keep it sweet, simple and out of the ordinary.

I have read the page in front of me and have to say that if you are invovled with people like that it is pretty sad that woman only want money if they cant make there own then the woman isnt worth it. I have had the problem of finding a man that wont make his half or die trying lol I work hard and alot so I expect the man to at least try also. There are good woman you just need to try. I have gone out to eat alot by myself or even stopped into the local bar for a drink and men dont talk to me or if they do there are the ones that have no teeth this is very depressing I think what is wrong with m? I just give up Julie
