In reading through quite a few profiles posted by women I have found some things that seem to be common requests: 1. Prince Charming 2. someone to rescue me/ sweep me off my feet 3. honesty 4.good communicator 5.a man who knows how to treat a woman 6. someone (who apparently) likes to look at pictures of pets/ or children Not that any of this is right or wrong. I will continue my research.

Quoting: Originally posted by JLW777 I almost feel sorry for MEN. You are right! We tell you exactly what we want but how can one man possible fulfill our requests, demands and wants or even fully understand what in the heck we are even talking about.
Let's use your example:
1. Prince Charming. You will probably be so charming and then hear these words "he's too nice for me". Or you will be so charming she starts to think you are hitting on every woman that looks in your direction. This will cause jealousy or even worse-insecurity. Either one is a major bitch to deal with. Prince Charming is a tricky request. You have to know exactly when to bring him out and dont you dare be wrong! LOL.
2. Someone to rescue me.. Ladies: get a job. Get a hobby. Get your own life. Then you wont need someone to rescue you from your own unsatisfying life. Do guys really want to walk into someone in that frame?
3. Honesty. Yeah right. On what level of Honesty? Again, very tricky.
4.Communication. That's a good one. But it leaves the door pretty wide open.
5. How to treat a woman? Exactly HOW is it? Isnt every woman an individual with their own set of needs and wants? What turns me on probably turns the next off. What makes me happy probably ticks the next one off. How is a guy to ever know the meaning of knowing how to treat a woman?
6. Pictures of pets/kids. Ladies- If your on a dating site- save pictures of Johnny and Fido for another time. And dont pull out a Rolodex of pictures of Johnny and Fido on the first date, the second date.. let's be honest, dont ever pull out all the stinkin pictures. A picture says a thousand words- a couple of pictures says a couple of thousand words, so on and so on, I'm sure you get it. And men- dont ever pull out pictures of the ex's either. All we will do is wonder why you showed us. Are you over her? Is she prettier than me? Blah blah blah.
Good luck men! We are a handful. Good luck woman. Men just dont get it... LOL!

Well I just had to chime in on this one. Well--I'm from the ol skool days when men really actually as the old folks would say-- "courted" women. So to me, No.5 leads to all the rest. It may seem like something out of a science fiction novel but I really have met men who "know how to treat women." I miss those days. And "annacath" touched on a good point. Of course no two individuals are the same but I don't know any woman who does not appreciate being appreciated--that is she is not going to turn down flowers, candy, a trinket now and then given from the heart, candlelit dinners, jusst a little romance in the mix, someone pulling out their chair, in other words showing that he is a true gentleman and is invested in making a woman feel at that moment that she is the only woman on this planet. I have felt like that with certain men so they are out there. WE(women) just have to realize it and appreciate it when we see it--( I too have thrown it away and didnt appreciate what I had) but THIS behavior leads to reciprocation on our parts and other pleasantries soon to come. Because trust me, if he really does know how to treat a woman all those things mentioned above automatically fall into place.

Women and men alike mostly seek to be understood, accepted and liked. It is the upmost feeling to be naked and still loved. I mean naked in the sense of allowing someone know your soul and get through all the protective walls we create. To be completely naked with blemish or flaws and be loved still is what the world seeks.

I agree & it seems as if everyone is looking for a security blanket these days. Real love will never exist if one partner is constatntly looking at the relationship as a dollar sign. It does not hurt to want a great man with great things but the love/ connection should be very genuine.
