Hi movie lovers,

Most of you are aware now that I go to the library regularly on Mondays.... primarily to check out books and movies. ;-D My library carries a great selection of old and new titles. I thought it might be fun to do a monthly blog on the films we have recently watched.

I invite you to share with us a short review of a movie you've seen recently.

Tell us how many stars you give it. (0-5)

I watched "The Mirror Has Two Faces", starring Barbara Streisand and Jeff Bridges, 2004.

This light romantic comedy was a great chic flik to watch during a recent snowstorm. It was a funny story about two college professors who fell in love in an unusual way. An all-star cast including Pierce Brosnan, George Segal and Lauren Bacall.

I give this movie 3 Stars-- ***

Hi Hoping,

You've taken on some heavy epic movies. Lord of the Rings movies are wonderful. Haven't seen the new one yet, Hobbit. I should take some time out watch that one while it's still at the theatre.

So it was you who taught Legally Blond Reese Whitherspoon how to bend and snap. Hollywood Consultant to female super-screen heros must be your true profession. LOL!............ BeWell...;-D

BEWELL,

I just saw a commercial for THE HOBBIT.. Comes out on DVD Tuesday...

Yes, its true.. I did teach Reese the famous "Bend and Snap!" HA!

But my biggest regret was missing my role in LEGENDS OF THE FALL-- Caught the end of that today...

Yes, it so happens I was to be in that movie as well.. Brad insisted!!

But I was busy that day-- I was.. I was... um--

Well, I know I was busy that day--

OH YEAH.. I was having baby #2!! (See, I knew there had to be a reasonable reason!)

SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

LEGENDS OF THE FALL

SEVEN

GONE BABY GONE

THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER

SHAWSHANK

A TIME TO KILL

MURDER IN THE FIRST (True story-- a MUST see!!)

CONVICTION  (Another True story and MUST see!!)

Well, time to go play with Brad behind the barn.. Angelina is busy with all them youngins! Bwahahaha!! ;)

Oh yes..offcourse Mr H is huge worldwide :-)

The Woman...öh..hmm...öh...its awful...I dont want to ruin your eventual movie thrill watching it..but I say..maybe dont have popcorns or so...could be hard to keep down, as its truly awful but not in a classical horror way, its somewhat interesting but enerving (if that is the right English word for it)

This is the main character (ths pic)...ÖÖÖÖH ;-)

Me and my friends have something we call "Movie Sundays", where we meet up at someones house and watch a movie and just relax...very nice indeed...and all phones off etc so we MUST focus on just watching the movie and enjoying eachothers company...we are usually 7 women, and as Im the one having a bit special movie theatre etc, it often falls in my lap to arrange this...the coming Sunday we shall be in anothers home, and she get to pick the movie...it shall be enchanting :-)

Watched The Bridges of Madison County last night. Haven't seen it since it first came out in the mid 1990s. It was torture! I forgot what an intensely romantic movie that was. That's definately a 5 star chic flik. ;-D

When I used to travel for work I went off road several times in Iowa to see several of those beautiful bridges. After the movie Clint Eastwood donated a lot of money for their restoration. They are beautiful. I took pictures, but unfortunately took them on my work phone and never transferred them off to my computer.

Dearest Bewell...Just wanted to dive in and say hi in the midst of my business marathn life ;-)

...and wish you well and I must say I like this subject...hm...one of the latest movies me and my friends watched is Hitchcock...with Helen Mirren..I like her.

I give it a 3 on a scake 1-5. It felt a bit dry and I dont like movies with Scarlett J...as she always gives some kind of fakeness to her acting...this is my opinion anyways.

A warning is to be given for watching a movie called "The Woman"...

Dear Worldmind,

Thanks for posting your comments on Hitchcock. I love Helen Mirren too. What a classy lady she is. I have not seen Hitchcock yet. Perhaps it was dry to match his personality. LOL! But he was one of the great directors of all time for suspense thrillers.

Thanks for the warning on The Woman. Tell us more about your comments.

I'm happy to hear from you, and find that you're doing OK and have just been running your business marathon. Hope you're winning ;-D................. BeWell

Hi BeWell,

A friend in BC sent me a link to a WWll movie I'd never seen. Not well-known, but very interesting (to me anyway) and, for anyone who enjoys war movies based on fact...one they should watch.

It tells the story behind the first black fighter squadron, and the bigotry and BS they had to endure before being allowed to prove their ability to fight for their country. I'd give it at least a 4.5 star rating.

If interested, you can Google it. The site I have has subtitles but the audio is in English. There are probably other sites posted by Americans. The title is:

Red Tails on Vimo

Dear Windrider,

Red Tails on Vimo sounds like a very interesting film to watch. I do enjoy movies based on history. I will hunt this one down because I would very much like to see it.

Thank you ever so much for posting your suggestion and review. Happy movie watching........ BeWell

Hoping,

The Matrix is one of my favorite's. Great concept! I love the powerful and invincible Trinity too. You did a fine job training her. ;-D............. BeWell

Well Thank You BEWELL for the accolades regarding TRINITY---

She was a real trooper when I was showing her all my "wicked moves!" LOL..

I watched the second MATRIX the night after...

I still have the 3rd one to see now.. WAYYYY better "Trilogy" that 50!!

I was saddened to turn down the part of TRINITY as I was still breastfeeding the last little munchkin back then; but, I tried to give Carrie-Ann the proper tools to work with! ;)

After I finish these movies, I am off to start on the "LORDS" movies...

I love Harry Potter, so I think the Lord of the Rings movies will suit my taste as well!

Now for "in depth" movies?

LEGALLY BLONDE comes to mind! Why, who do you think taught Reese the ever famous "Bend and Snap!"

Bwahahahaha!! ;)

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND MY LADY-- AND DON'T GO SCARING MEN AT THE LIBRARY---

(Unless you get it on tape to share! Heehee)

BEWELL- I just watched THE MATRIX for the first time last night...

Keanue Reeves was quite a handsome fellow in 1999!! :)

But, what I REALLY found astounding

TRINITY, played by Carrie-Ann Moss, did her "man whooping shots"  exactly like I showed her!

WELL-- Minus the stiletto nailing!!! ;)

I tell ya--- Watching her was like looking in a mirror!!! Heeheehee~~

**** (4 Stars) SCI-Fi ACTION

I saw an interesting film recently. It's called, "Another Earth". It didn't have any well-known actors in it, but it was a very interesting film. A Sundance award winner from 2011.

It is about another earth, which they called Earth 2,  that popped up about as close as the moon, but was a simultanious existance to Earth 1. Once scientists made communication with Earth 2, interesting possibilities started to happen. It has a surprise ending that blew me away and really made me have to think about it.

Has anyone seen it? And if you have, how did you like it?

For those who have not viewed it, if you're into sci-fi you might like this one................. BeWell

I finally watched Skyfall.  Very good! Also sad too. Daniel Craig is looking a lot older now as well. Not sure how many more Bond films he will do.

Sarah :-)

Hi Sarah,

Good to know it's a good movie. I haven't seen it yet, but hoping to do so soon. It's still at my neighborhood theatre. I think it is one of those you want to see on the big screen, rather than getting it on DVD.

I appreciate your input, and I'm sure others do as well............... BeWell....;-D
