Hi movie lovers,

As you may have read in my regular reading blog, I normally post this on the first of the month. I'm late because I've been out of town visiting my baby grandson for 12 days.

I invite you to share with us a short review of a movie you've seen recently.
Tell us how many stars you give it. (0-5)

Last night I watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. 2012. The story was good, the special effects and cinematography were amazing. It was shot in New Zealand. It's a "boy" movie with lots of struggles, conflict, and fighting. I give it 3 Stars as a female, but if I was a guy I'd probably give it 4 Stars. ;-D

Hi Sarah,

Yeah, Hobbit was a bit long. It is a classic, and I guess it's more for those of us who were into the book trilogy. I just loved the cinematography and costuming which was outstanding. .... BeWell

Thanks Hoping, Jen, and Liv,

Thanks for your comments on D'Jango: Unchanged. I think I'll skip that one. Doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy. ......... BeWell

Hi Infinity,

When I want to watch a movie to inspire me about a determined woman, I watch Erin Brokovich. It's a classic! A few years ago there was a community near where I lived that had a massive breakout of brain cancer. The real Erin Brokovich came to help the community in their civil law suit. She is still working in this area just as dilibertly as ever. Thanks for posting............ BeWell.... ;-D

BeWell,

I love Erin Brokovich!

Liv

I'm boycottng Jamie Fox and anything he acts in. For those who don't know him, he is in the movie "Django:unchained". I think he is in

Jenk,

Well, am I surprised? Lord and Saviour indeed! They've all lost their ways....that guy (Obama) is more than meets the eye - creepy!!!

Short clip of Fox declaring Obama lord & savior.  He was at a Soul Train event. The audience loved it when he decalred Obama as their lord & savior.

" Killing all whities is a great thing." He said this in his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live.

We watched the Hobbit at the weekend. It was a well made film but it was stretched out for abour 3 hrs or what felt like it. Very much the same as Lord of the Rings as this was the story before and its only part 1 of the Hobbit. Think they said there is going to be 3 parts. I enjoyed it but my bro fell asleep. lol

Sarah :-)

P.S. Unfortunitely some staff member here removed my links to the Youtube videos. If you type in the key words, you will be able to find Jamie Fox in his own words telling 2 audiences these things.

BE-- Just saw DJuango?? IDK-- (I don't know)-- Quinton Ferintino?

Well, it was VERY late, saw with friend.  "kinda" fell asleep a couple of time.. (very late)

Was it good?

GUY GREAT!? I think so...

Girl?? Not sure... Lots of blood spatter!! Kind of graphic actually!

And, I have .. ummm.. "issues".. when I see things of KKK, etc..  I become very "disturbed",, have to turn away-- sometimes start to cry---- there were some AWFUL parts!!

I do NOT understand, regardless of how one is taught,, how one can be so callous as to treat others with such venom!!

IT'S A WESTERN-----

Not sure how I feel.. I did fall asleep in and out twice.... But it was very late and I was very tired..

WESTERN lovers, men or women, would enjoy it though..

Some was comedic!

Opening it said DON JOHNSON was in it..

I made smart comment about him wearing WHITE SUIT!! Bwahahahaha!! HE DID!! ;)

Watched another good movie last night, We Bought a Zoo, 2011. It had Matt Damon as the main character and Scarlett Johansson. I loved it and give it 3 stars.

It's a story about a recently widowed news reporter with two kids who quit his dangerous job, moved away from the city and bought a dilapidated zoo for a family adventure. It helped to heal their grief. It's a true story. I highly recommend it, and the special features too. The special features show how they made the movie and worked with the animals...........BeWell....;-D

And have ordered The skin i live in, by Pedro Almodovar. I recommend all his movies actually, including Volver with Penelope Cruz. The name of his prod. company is "Deseo"....

The Descendents with George Clooney. Highly recommended. The characters were well written and the acting superb.

Hi Malagueno,

Welcome to the movie blog! Happy to see you enjoyed The Decendents. I saw it too and enjoyed it very much. George Clooney is a great actor. I also enjoyed Up in the Air that he did a few years ago. Thanks for sharing and keep watching those movies and posting about them.....  BeWell......... ;-D

Quoting Filmgirl26:

On cable last night I saw the movie "Step Mom" with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon - I had seen it before. It is from 1998 I think. For those who haven't seen it, Roberts is marrying Sarandon's ex-husband and therefore must become step mom to Sarandon's kids. We find out in the middle of the film that Sarandon is dying, but Roberts and she seem to form a bond over this because they know they must do what is best for the children. It is sad, but well-acted. I'd give it 3 stars in general.

Hi Filmgirl,

Oh yes! I remember Step Mom. That was a really good movie, and I love both Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. They are two of my favorite actresses and you can't go wrong with any of their movies................. BeWell...;-D
