Hello reading friends,

I apologize for being 10 days late with my monthly reading blog. I've been a bit under the weather since the tornadoes blew through my city on the 31st of May. But I'm feeling a tad better tonight.

What are you reading now?

How is it helping you to get connected with someone who could be a potential date?

I picked up an old copy of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus: A Practical Guide for Improving Communication and Getting What You Want in Your Relationships by John Grey, circa 1992. It has sold over 50 million copies.

Although I've not read this one before, I've read about 100 others similar to it that have come out since then. This one is amazing!

One big lesson I've learned from this book thusfar is to just let men be. Don't offer any help, advice or ideas to Martians unless they ask for it. It's not in Martian DNA to accept our help. It's like Kryptonite to them. It literally stunts their personal growth and self-esteem and makes them shut down and turn away from us when we interfere in their evolutionary processes.

On Venus it is quite the opposite. Women always help other women with solutions  and ideas which is called "kindness" on Venus. That's in our DNA. We thrive on kindness and understanding and sharing our feelings. If we don't get to do that with our mate we feel unloved, unwanted, and rejected. That's our Kryptonite. We have to be able to do this to evolve emotionally.

You have to read or re-read this book to learn how to get what you want from a Mars and Venus relationship. Unfortunately I can't do it in a nutshell here, and Dr. Grey does a much better job.

This book is, in my opinion, still the best relationship book out on the market. It's still going strong. I think John Grey should be given the Nobel Peace Prize for this work. Just for Chapter 11..... The Love Letter, which I will blog more about in another writing when I'm feeling better, and not dodging tornadoes.

BeWell............ ;-D

Quoting rmac22:

Finished reading the book I mentioned in the BeWell’s May blog -- Marry Him, The CASE for SETTLING for MR. GOOD ENOUGH, by Lori Gottlieb.

Even a man can learn something from the book.  Some interesting insights on our “market value” as we age.   Difference between men and women.   How at each new stage those we rejected at an earlier stage start seeming more and more attractive.

Hi Rmac!

So sorry I've been gone from my post. Been on vacation. Just got back a few days ago.

Thanks for keeping things going. Happy to hear you enjoyed Marry Him, the Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough. Will order it from the library. I think I may need to read it. ;-D...... BeWell

I guess I see things differently, I would prefer if my partner in life would give suggestions and/or solutions. Maybe they have seen the problem before and can correctly navigate the problem. That is the point of a partner, is it not? I would speculate that according to that book, I fall away from the molded psyche...

Just started GUILTY WIVES by James Patterson and David Ellis..

I was with my dentist friend the other day and I was looking at books.. Well, I forgot those lovely "readers" in his vehicle, so I asked embarrassingly asked him to read a bit of the back. 30 seconds into his reading, I said, "Murder, prison, sex, lies...... I'll take it!"  ;)

I will have to check your book out.. I like books that grant insight into others, etc.. You know, when I'm not reading about debauchery and murder! ;)

I also want to read the Five Love Languages book....

Hope you are doing well!! :)))
